Our work

Since November 2022, our team has supported Peabody Energy’s Wilpinjong Mine Expansion with integrated project management from feasibility through to detailed design. We coordinated FEED, conducted rail relocation planning and advanced simulation studies to optimise mine capacity, infrastructure performance and long-term operational value, assessed coal transport greenhouse gas emissions and cost simulations.

Phronis, on behalf of the Veldon Group, delivered a multi-discipline Pre-Feasibility Study for Jellinbah Resources’ Lake Vermont Mine Expansion. The study provided a fully integrated framework to incorporate a new underground metallurgical coal operation into existing open cut infrastructure, optimising processing efficiency, material handling and long-term site performance.

Phronis delivered mechanical engineering and design/drafting services for multiple work lots as part of a facility upgrade to double the plant's capacity from 16 to 32ML/day. Working closely with client stakeholders, we progressed the project from tender design through to Issued for Construction (IFC) documentation, including plant layout, equipment selection and detailed drawing packages.

Phronis delivered design and construction management for the water infrastructure component of the Olive Downs Coking Coal Project — a greenfield metallurgical coal mine in the Bowen Basin with a 30-year life and up to 14Mtpa production. Our scope covered water supply strategy, pipeline design, treatment infrastructure and connection to Sunwater’s Eungella Water Pipeline Southern Extension.
